Acupuncture for fertility and gynaecology
Fertility issues among women and men have become an increasing concern in recent years. This is mainly due to environmental issues and lifestyle. Many more people are now turning to acupuncture to help not only to treat fertility issues, but with other gynaecological problems and pregnancy.
Acupuncture can treat both female and male fertility. It can help support natural fertility, by balancing the body ready to try for a child.
Acupuncture can help with:

- Relieving stress levels
- Improving blood circulation to the pelvic organs, including the ovaries and uterus
- Supporting ovulation and ovulation dysfunction in some women

Assisted Fertility (IVF)
Acupuncture can greatly assist patients going through the assisted fertility route. It has been shown to increase the success rate of IVF from 35% to nearly 70%.
It is advisable for patients to come for regular acupuncture treatments three to six months before they commence IVF treatment. This is to address any underlaying issues and prepare the body for treatment, making it more receptive.
There are then protocols that maybe used prior the various stages within the fertility treatment plan, that may assist with its success.
